Château de Versailles
Versailles, France

French King Louis XIII has started a revolution. A revolution in terms of architectural designs that could compete against all other. The Château de Versailles that we see today is a far cry from the original one that was established in 1631.

The King originally intended it only as a hunting lodge but his son, King Louis XIV, expanded it from the year 1661 to 1710 into the massive architectural beauty that would go down in history. From then on, the next successor of the monarchy would add his own personal touch, adding more rooms and decorating more extensively. It has a long history of many purposes, including Napoleon Bonaparte's lavish retreat house.

Today, it is now one of the most visited architecture in the country and even in the entire world. It lures millions of tourists every year and has had many reconstructions to improve its state over the years.
