16' Redwood Canoe

This canoe was hand built by a Scoutmaster and his son in the early 1960s. It is made of hundreds of redwood square section strips individually laid and glued together, then sanded flush and sealed with resin. A genuine American Classic, and one of the coolest canoes you are likely to see. It is a full sixteen feet in length, and built for cargo / camping use. The beam is 38", which was intentionally built a bit wider than the Boy Scout plans called for. With a wide flat bottom, mild tumblehome, and symetrical bow and stern, this is a very stable design with big water capability, and also well suited to sail rig if you're of a mind to fit a mast or two to it. No trailer is included, but it does include life vests, paddle, and a gallon of resin I was going to use to refinish the wood (Redwood will never rot, but it does need to be sanded and re-varnished occasionally to look its best). I will consider offers and interesting trades. Steve. 210-Seven-Eight-Nine-2764.
