POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

We are seeking a Temporary Research Technician C for the The Pluripotent Stem Cell Center. The Pluripotent Stem Cell Center is a core facility that produces, cultures and differentiates pluripotent cells (hESC and iPS cells) for the stem cell community in Einstein. The successful candidate will have a bachelor's degree in biological sciences and experience in human primary cell culture, preferentially pluripotent cells and/or hematopoietic cells. Responsibilities will include daily cell culture and operation of complex equipment such as automated liquid handler and specialized plate evaluating systems. Maintenance of cell cultures and support of various experiments, including molecular biology techniques and general lab chores is also required.

  • BA/BS in related science or equivalent skills and experience and a minimum of two years of related experience are required; M.Sc. in related science highly preferred
  • Lab experience, cell culture and sterile work experience is required; molecular biology and robotic system experience a strong plus
  • Must be able to accurately calculate concentrations and prepare reagents
  • Must be able to work alternate weekends and holidays for maintenance of cultures
  • Must be willing to work a temporary assignment for a least six months
