Democracy Triumphs: Mohamed Morsi Steps Down

Some people never learn and you know you just can't force your way with other people, especially if you are in public service. The tyranny that the ancient monarchs did to their people has long since created democracy and no totalitarian government will stand against the power of the people when we stand united. Mohamed Morsi attempted to become a tyrant and he got booted out of the presidential palace and now reside in a prison in Egypt. Why couldn't he just give the people what they want? He might have remained in power for a much longer time and go out with the blaze of glory instead of shame.

Over 33 million Egyptians marched in Tahrir Square clamoring for Morsi to step down and despite his defiance Morsi had no choice but to surrender to the people's will. This is very significant for me as a Filipino because we've removed a dictator from power as well some 20 years ago when the people also revolted against former President Ferdinand Marcos. In my opinion any leader should put the people's interest before them and not the other way around.
