Zack Snyder’s versus has now become a triple threat match, as the elusive role of the Amazonian princess turned superhero now landed on Israeli beauty queen Gal Gadot’s lap, completing the DC Comic’s holy trinity of superheroes.

Gadot will co-star with Henry Cavill in the role of Superman and Ben Afflec wearing Batman’s cape and cowl in this Man of Steel sequel directed by Zack Snyder and penned by David S. Goyer.

“Wonder Woman is arguably one of the most powerful female characters of all time and a fan favorite in the DC Universe,” director Zack Snyder said of the casting. “Not only is Gal an amazing actress, but she also has that magical quality that makes her perfect for the role. We look forward to audiences discovering Gal in the first feature film incarnation of this beloved character.” according to Snyder.

The Israeli fashion model and 2004 Miss Israel got her shot of fame starring as Gisele Harabo in the car-and-action themed Fast & Furious franchise.

Gadot’s drafting seems to follow a pattern whereas former beauty queens were being chosen for the role, as 1972 Miss World USA Lynda Carter was the first a definitive and still famous portrayal of the female superhero.
