Lately gun-related violence in the United States have escalated to the point that authorities want to treat it a notch lower than a terror attack. However, gun rights advocates protest that this will take away their second amendment rights, which is the right to bear arms. Furthermore they reckon that the second amendment was to keep the government from harassing people. The heated debate at Capitol Hill these days is whether or not to ban weapons for civilian use, but I think the issue here is that the people who committed all those horrible crimes were essentially crazy people. People who has mental health issues and not good law-abiding citizens. Taking one side of the argument so drastically doesn't seem fair and will mostly resolve no problems. Why not spend on mental health campaigns to treat psychopaths instead of taking away their guns? After all guns are not the only tool that could kill people.
