Stepping away from the set of her hit ABC series "Scandal," Kerry Washington graces the cover of Emmy magazine's latest issue.

The "Django Unchained" beauty donned a gorgeous white dress for the Sarah McColgan-front page spread, while opening up about her decision to have a Hollywood career.

"[I wanted to be a college professor] or a shrink," the 36-year-old actress revealed. "I had a real curiousity about how people became the people they are."

When discussing the reasons why acting wasn't for her, Miss Washingtonanswered, "I thought that to be an actress, you had to want to be famous. And that wasn't something I was interested in."

"I realized there were lots of people who made a living as actors who may never be on the cover of a magazine, but had fulfilling careers. And I decided, 'I'm going to go for it.' But I never really saw myself as someone who would be that girl on the cover of anything," she added.
