Aside from the casting (which disappointed everyone), Warner Bros. seems to take Batman’s next incarnation to new directions, especially the design.

The new Batsuit’s design will be based from Lee Bermejo’s 2011 graphic novel, Batman: Noël (yes, it’s a Christmas-themed Batman novel). The suit features a lighter shade or blue-gray, short ears, and a more angular design where the cape meets the bat logo. A far-cry from Christian Bale’s costume (also, eerily looks like Daredevil).

And the Batmobile did not escape from further re-invention as well. It is reported that General Motors Advanced Design Studio is designing and building a new Batmobile, and no, it will not be military-inspired like Christopher Nolan’s Tumbler, but is equipped with a rather sleek design (for those who aren’t fans of the Tumbler, these developments look promising).

General Motors is also behind the vehicles in Michael Bay’s “Transformer” franchise.

Final designs are yet to be announced and it seems everything is still on the planning board. But it is very apparent that the movie is trying to distant itself from Christopher Nolan’s universe as far a Batman is concerned.
