Suddenly it’s 2005 again.

That fateful year when Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo began the biggest console war ever with their respective gaming platforms. And it is a complete déjà vu. With the bigger highlight being the unveiling of the highly anticipated Playstation 4 (which also severely outdated our Playstation 3s on the other hand). Also, PS4 ups the ante, by placing the price tag at only $399!

Following the very much hyped announcement last February this year, which treated fans to lights and sound show of what can be anticipated from the new console, Sony finally capped it off by revealing their next big hardware.

Sporting a parallelogram-ish built, the Playstation 4 packs a whopping 8-core single-chip custom x86 AMD "Jaguar" processor, 1.84 TFlop AMD Radeon Graphics Core, and 8 GB GDDR5, not to mention, a Blu-Ray/DVD combo drive as icing in this awesome gaming console of a cake. The controllers, on the other hand, are fitted with motion-sensing six-axis, clickable touch pad, and share button.

And the best part is, it’s only $399. A next-generation gaming console no costlier than your iPhone 5? Sounds good to me.
