Lay's has finally unveiled the winner of its annual competition ‘Do Us a Flavor’ and it looks so good that it makes us think of our own comfort food. "Southern Biscuits and Gravy" is now the official new flavor that won over the hearts of chip lovers worldwide. It managed to beat three other tough competitors: Kettle Cooked Greektown Gyro, New York Reuben, and Wavy West Coast Truffle Fries.

Hailey Green of Noblesville, Ind., is the creator of this delicious flavor and credited its conception to her favorite biscuits and gravy recipe that has been passed down in her family one generation after another.

Lay's commented on her recipe explaining: “She has a great appreciation for each locale’s ‘homemade style,’ because it reminds her of her own childhood, filled with memories of eating Southern food in her grandmother’s kitchen.”

Singer Nick Lachey awarded her last Tuesday night at a dinner hosted for the finalists. Not only will she be forever remembered as a creator of a Lay's flavor, she would also get $1 million or 1% of her flavor’s net sales through July 15, 2016 - whichever is higher.

Based from the packaging alone, our mouths can't help but salivate over this new flavor and we can't wait to try it out!
