George R.R. Martin has posted an excerpt from an upcoming companion book of his "Song of Ice and Fire" series. The book would be called "The World of Ice and Fire: The Untold History of Westeros and the World of Game of Thrones."

It's a huge encyclopedia about the historical events and figures that shaped the Seven Kingdoms and beyond it. For Targaryen fans out there, you would be pleased to know that the book shed light to the dragon-aided conquest made by Aegon I Targaryen. It even has an illustration of Aegon riding the biggest recorded dragon, Balerion the Black Dread! Martin confirmed that this was how he imagined fully grown dragons looked like. Can you imagine Dany riding this and conquering Westeros? Sweet!
