Balcony
Written By Thaumus the Bard
I was sitting on the balcony, it was late afternoon,
Downing a drink, even though I had already had two.
I looked down below, and saw her standing in the street,
With her suitcase in hand, she was staring up at me.
She turned away, and disappeared into the midday haze,
Silent tears tracked down my cheeks for days.
I was a failure, a disappointment, and I was broken too,
And I just lost the love of my life, it was supposed to be just me and you.
So I sit here on the balcony, late into the night,
My body is slumped underneath the glaring moonlight.
No heartfelt goodbyes, no tear-filled farewells,
Just the end of my story, there is nothing left to tell.
