Tiana (The Princess and the Frog)
Most of the dresses in 'The Princess and the Frog' do have some historical basis (lots of dropped waists and slinky chemises), so I thought it would be fun to tackle Tiana's magic-kiss-swamp-frog-something gown," she wrote. "I liked the idea of a challenge and decided to drag it kicking and screaming back into the '20s."
Love em or hate em... that's the way interpretations usually make us feel. For Claire Hummel, it's pretty hard to hate her Disney costume interpretations when they're so pretty to look at!
Hummel is a fan of Disney and there's nothing she loves more in the world than costumes. Put the two together and she has come up with a project that focuses on redesigning the clothes of Disney Princesses into the actual time period that the story was supposed to happen.
Because of animation and story conflicts, most costumes of Disney Princesses are pretty inaccurate to the estimated time figure of their story. Hummel has made it possible for us to truly see what the costume would look like during the time of the story.
