Ingredients

  • Cake:
  • 12 T. unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 t. vanilla
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 1/2 c. flour
  • 2 t. baking powder
  • 1/2 t. salt
  • 2/3 c. buttermilk
  • Filling:
  • 3 egg yolks, beaten
  • 3 c. milk
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/3 c. cornstarch
  • 1/4 t. salt
  • 1 t. vanilla
  • Ganache:
  • 8 oz. semi-sweet baking chocolate, finely chopped
  • 1 c. heavy cream

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line a lightly greased muffin pan with 12 cupcake liners.

  3. In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar; add vanilla; beat again. Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating well after each addition.
