The 30-year-old Oklahoma native and season 4 "American Idol" champ, singer Carrie Underwood has donated $1 million to the Red Cross for disaster relief, which will aid those rebuilding after Monday's monstrous twister decimated the town of Moore, Oklahoma. The sum was generated by proceeds from her "Blown Away" tour.
Underwood said in a statement that “I have watched the devastation in my home state of Oklahoma over the past several days with great sadness,” . “With the help of my fans who attended my concerts over the past year, we can offer the Red Cross a little extra help in comforting those affected by the recent tornadoes.”
After performing in Atlantic City in November 2012, Underwood donated all of the proceeds from that night's show to the recovery effort of the Hurricane Sandy left behind in New Jersey last year.
