Lionsgate has now a new franchise to create after The Hunger Games is done.

Divergent generated $56 million on its first opening weekend. It's a disappointment when you compare it to Twilight (the first movie took in $75.9 million over its first three days) and the first Hunger Games movie (ticket sales of $156 million) but still a reasonably good start to be able to give a go signal for the next movies.
