It seems the three year old marriage went sour for Hilary Duff and Mike Comrie. The couple apparently split amicably due to their relationship drifting apart.

"They remain best friends and will continue to be in each other's lives. They are dedicated to loving and parenting their amazing son, and ask for privacy at this time," Hilary’s rep said in a statement to People magazine.

"There was no major incident – no big event between the two of them. They really did drift apart,” a source revealed. “They have put effort and thought into this decision for a long time. They tried couple’s therapy, but in the end, they realised at this time, they work better as friends. And they really are great friends."

The two would still help each other co-parent their son little Luca Cruz Comrie.
