I’ve been on my health journey for over 19 months now, and along the way I’m often reminded why staying consistent and committed matters so much. This photo was taken on September 5, 2021, in Saugatuck, Michigan a moment that clearly reflects where I was at the time. I weighed 265 pounds, felt physically drained, and struggled daily with constant back pain and very little energy. I wasn’t comfortable in my own body, and I didn’t like how I felt or how clothes fit me. More than anything, I was unhappy with how disconnected I felt from myself.
Looking back at this image serves as a powerful reminder of how far I’ve come and why I never want to return to that place physically or mentally. This journey hasn’t been easy, but it’s been necessary, and it’s been deeply personal.
Side note: this is my journey. There is no judgment here no opinions or comparisons about anyone else’s appearance, weight, or height. My posts are simply about my own experience, the changes I knew I needed to make, and the reasons behind those changes. Sharing this is about accountability, growth, and honoring the work it took to become healthier and feel better in my own skin.
