Katy Perry "Roars" into the MTV Video Music Awards

It’s always one of the biggest events of the year, and Katy Perry came to the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards tonight (August 25) ready to have a smashing good time.
Looking sexy in a snazzy ensemble, the "Roar" singer showed off her posing prowess while the paparazzi clamored for a shot outside the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
Stoked to perform at the star-studded event, Katy Perry tweeted, "SEE YOU AT THE VMA'S. I'M BRINGING MY BIG KATS WITH ME."
Given that this is the first year the VMA’s have invaded Brooklyn, there’s a whole new energy in the air, and fans can hardly wait to find out who winsthe coveted Video of the Year moonman.
The contenders are Macklemore & Ryan Lewis for “Thrift Shop,” Bruno Mars for “Locked Out of Heaven,” Taylor Swift for “I Knew You Were Trouble,” Robin Thicke for “Blurred Lines” and Justin Timberlake for “Mirrors.”
