Trying hard to score the perfect ensemble, Kim Kardashian made modifications to her getup for the 2014 Met Gala all the way up to the moment she stepped onto the red carpet.

While she initially wore a thick black belt, leather wrist cuffs and minimalist sandals as she embarked on her commute to the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday (May 5), the “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” cutie arrived without the wrist accessories and with black t-strap heels and a slimmer belt.

Kim took to her blog to explain the last-minute changes- "Last night was an amazing time at the Met Gala. I was in love with my Lanvin strapless dress. Alber Elbaz helped Kanye and I get ready for the evening, which was a perfect fit because he also dressed us for the cover of Vogue."

"It was such a tough decision on how to accessorize. I left the store with a chunky belt and leather cuffs. We were going back and forth for hours if the chunky belt was right. In the car on our way there we got a glimpse of the carpet, and I decided the accessories were a bit too 'rock 'n' roll' and I wanted to go for something more simple and elegant."

Ms. Kardashian continued, “So I switched to a clean black satin belt and strappy heels. To me it felt more classic and fit the Forties theme better. Kanye also liked it better too. Overall I thought it was the right decision and I loved the way everything came together."
