However, it seems that all of us are quite surprised with the decision for the cast of this controversial film. Ian Somerhalder, Matt Bomer and Robert Pattinson were the leading men that majority wanted to be Mr. Christian Grey. Alexis Bledel, Emma Watson and Emilia Clarke were voted as the most popular choices for the role of Anastasia Steele.

Sadly for their fans, none of them got the coveted role. Instead, we have Dakota Johnson, a model turned to actress and Charlie Hunnam, the hunky actor from the Pacific Rim. Johnson is 23 while Hunnam is 33.

“I am delighted to let you know that the lovely Dakota Johnson has agreed to be our Anastasia in the film adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey,” E.L. James announced on Twitter, following it up with: “The gorgeous and talented Charlie Hunnam will be Christian Grey in the film adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey.”
