Weirdly enough, racy costumes and gestures weren't the sources of our surprise when Miley Cyrus went up the stage to claim her award for Best Pop Video for her track Wrecking Ball and Best Female Act during the ceremony in the 2014 World Music Awards last night in Monte Carlo, Monaco.

One word described Miley and it was ELEGANT. Wearing a sparkling Kaufman Franco gown which had a modest neckline, long sleeves and was floor-length, Miley dressed to impress. Despite the conservative cut, the gown had a slinky shape that outlined the star's figure perfectly. To add more pizzazz were the Lorraine Schwartz jewellery and Versace shoes that she wore with the gown.

Miley brought her younger brother Braison as her date and posted pictures of them in Instagram.

"My hawt date #wukongz (sic)" she wrote alongside a picture of her leaning against her taller sibling.
