Use your favorite cream of soup and your choice of crushed corn flakes, crushed potato chips or canned fried onion rings to make this favorite side dish. It is delicious and perfect for a crowd sized gathering.
1- 10 3/4 oz. can Cream of Mushroom soup or Cream of Chicken soup (any cream of soup will do so pick your favorite)
1 pint sour cream
1/2 c. butter, melted (1 stick)
1- 32 oz. bag frozen hash brown potatoes (about 7 1/2 c.)
1 medium onion, chopped (about 1/2 c.)
2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese (about 8 oz.)
1/2 t. ground black pepper
1 t. salt
1/2 cup crushed corn flakes or crushed potato chips or canned onion rings
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray 11x14 baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.
Stir the soup, sour cream, butter, potatoes, onion and cheese in baking dish.
Season with the black pepper. Sprinkle the potato mixture evenly with the crushed corn flakes or potato chips.
Bake 45 minutes or until the mixture is hot and bubbling.
