Tim Cook, CEO of Apple, received $4.2 million in compensation for 2012 which was less than the total he received in 2011 and 2010. The difference is that he received shares of stock in the prior years and this year none. Actually, the cash compensation this year ended up being more than the actual cash compensation of the previous years.
