Makes me really sad that people don't think you have to tip on taxed amount... I have been in the service industry for over 10 years now and YES! You tip on the total amount people! Come on, servers still make $2.13 an hour in most states and we pay taxes on our total sales, not our net sales, so when you only leave 10% (no matter if it is breakfast, lunch, or dinner) before taxes we are actually paying out of pocket to serve you. People don't realize that most employers refuse to meet minimum wage when we don't make it. Fortunately, most of the population is not made up entirely of ignorant, greedy pricks.
