There are many reasons to visit your local animal shelter. Besides adoption, you can also go to visit with the animals that are there. They love being petted and loved. Take your children with you and teach them the importance of being a responsible pet owner. Also take treats with you. As you can see in the picture, my son is sharing Christmas dog cookies with all of the dogs that are there. I think it brightens their day and I know it will warm your soul.
