Description

Traditional sugar cookies made with Christmas spices and molasses. Makes 6 dozen.

Ingredients

• 1 1/2 cups shortening
• 2 cups sugar
• 1/2 cup molasses
• 2 eggs
• 4 cups flour
• 4 teaspoons baking soda
• 2 teaspoons cinnamon
• 1 teaspoon cloves
• 1 teaspoon ginger
• 1 teaspoon salt

Steps

1. In a pan, melt the shortening and let cool.
2. Mix in the sugar, molasses, and eggs. Cream together.
3. Mix the dry ingredients together in a bowl, and add to the sugar mixture in the pan. Blend, then let chill for at least four hours.
