“The Fast and the Furious” star Vin Diesel silenced all rumors and at the same time sparked all excitement from comic book fanboys by confirming his role in the Marvel’s upcoming movie.

Diesel posed with a replica of Groot, the sentient tree-like creature in the highly anticipated “Guardians of the Galaxy” movie, confirming his role in the film.

The 46-year old actor posted the picture on his Facebook account, minutes before Marvel Studios confirmed his involvement in the film.

“Guardians of the Galaxy” director James Gunn said that the Groot bust was the one they used when filming for reference.

The confirmation completely quashed all rumors that Diesel will be playing Thanos, the big, purple villain teased in the ending of “The Avengers”.
