Description
Get the distinctive taste of Key Lime Pie from Florida with this delicious cake. It makes a great snack, dessert or even breakfast coffee cake.
Ingredients
- 18.25 oz. Box Betty Crocker® Supermoist® Vanilla Cake Mix, reserving 1 c. for topping
- 1/2 c. butter, melted
- 1 egg
- Filling:
- 8 oz. package cream cheese, softened
- 14 oz. can sweetened condensed milk (NOT evaporated)
- 3/4 c. Key Lime Juice
- 2 eggs, beaten
- Topping:
- reserved 1 c. cake mix
- 1 c. chopped pecans, walnuts or combination of both
- 3 T. butter, softened
- powdered sugar, for garnish
- Cool Whip, optional
- lime zest, optional
Steps
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 13 x 9 inch pan with cooking spray.
- In small bowl, reserve 1 c. dry cake mix for the topping; set aside.
- In a medium bowl, mix remaining cake mix, melted butter and 1 egg until well combined. Press in bottom of the prepared pan; set aside.
