Pacific Rim Official Main Trailer Released

Director Guillermo del Toro’s love letter to the Japanese giant monster movie genre, Legendary Pictures’ Pacific Rim released its third (and official) trailer, garnering a whopping 3.9 million views in YouTube in the first three days.

Planned to be released this July 12, 2013, the movie is set in a not far away future where giant monsters called Kaijus (in homage of the Japanese giant monster movie genre) rose from the Pacific Ocean and started attacking cities around the world, killing millions of lives and depleting humanity’s resources.

To counter this new menace, mankind came up with colossal robots called Jaegers each piloted with two humans whose minds are connected in a neural bridge. And the result is war of titanic proportions for the survival humanity (which definitely involves robots using fishing boats as baseball bats).

The film stars Charlie Hunnam, Idris Elba, Rinko Kikuchi and is distributed by Warner Bros.
