Lemon lovers, this dessert is for you. It's perfectly balances with sweet and tart flavors that will delight even the pickiest palate. It's quick to prepare and is a great dessert to share at potlucks, parties or family gatherings.
Ingredients
- 21 oz. can lemon pie filling
- 8 oz. block cream cheese, cut into small cubes
- 15.25 oz. box lemon cake mix
- 1/2 c. (1 stick) unsalted butter, thinly sliced
- optional: whipped cream, powdered sugar, lemon slices or vanilla ice cream, for serving
Steps
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly grease or spray a 9x13" baking dish with non-stick cooking/baking spray.
- Spread the lemon pie filling evenly across the bottom of the dish. Evenly dot the cubes of cream cheese over the lemon filling. Sprinkle the lemon cake mix evenly on top, DO NOT stir! Place butter slices evenly over the top of the dry cake mix.
- Bake 40–45 minutes or until the top is golden and bubbly.
