Ingredients

  • 2 c. dark brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 c unsalted butter
  • 1 t. salt
  • 1/2 t. ground nutmeg
  • 1 pinch ground allspice
  • 5 whole cloves
  • 3 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 vanilla bean
  • 8 c. hot water
  • 2 c. rum
  • whipped cream
  • ground nutmeg
  • ground cinnamon

Steps

  1. Place a slow cooker liner in the slow cooker for easy clean up.
  2. In the slow cooker, mix all ingredients except rum. Cover; cook on Low heat setting about 5 hours or until warm. Stir in rum.
  3. Serve in glasses or mugs topped with whipped cream and sprinkled with ground nutmeg and cinnamon.
