Tired of the typical meatballs in a marinara sauce? Try these in a cheese sauce. It is much like an Alfredo sauce. Made with cream cheese, Parmesan cheese and whipping cream and spices, everyone will love this dish!
Ingredients
- 1 T. butter
- 1/2 large onion, roughly chopped
- 3 cloves garlic
- 1 lb. lean ground beef
- 1 lb ground pork
- 1/2 t. salt
- 1/2 t. black pepper
- 1/4 t. oregano
- 1/4 t. ground sage
- 1/2 c. Parmesan cheese, grated
- 2 eggs
- sauce:
- 8 oz. cream cheese, softened
- 3/4 c. whipping cream
- 1/2 c. Parmesan cheese, grated
- 1/4 t. pepper
- 1/8 t. nutmeg
- 1/4 t. salt
- 1/2 t. garlic, minced
- 1/2-3/4 c. water, as needed
- 1 T. chopped parsley
Steps
- Heat oven to 375 degrees. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
- In a medium skillet over high heat, melt butter and saute onion for 5 minutes, until translucent.
- Add garlic and cook 1 minute, until fragrant.
