Description
Fried dill pickles make a great appetizer or even a side dish similar to French fries. Serve with your favorite dipping sauce or enjoy them plain.
Ingredients
- peanut oil, for frying
- 1 c. milk
- 1 egg
- 1/2 t. paprika
- splash pickle juice
- 1 c. cornmeal
- 1 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/2 t. smoked paprika
- 1 t. salt, plus more for seasoning
- 1/2 t. freshly ground black pepper
- 2 t. finely chopped dill
- 1 jar whole dill pickles, sliced into spears
- salt, to taste
- your favorite dipping sauce, optional
Steps
- Preheat deep-fryer to 375 degrees.
- Beat milk, egg, paprika, and a splash of the pickle juice together in an 8x8 inch casserole dish.
- Combine cornmeal, flour, smoked paprika, salt, pepper, and dill into another baking dish.
