Description

Get the delicious flavor of that favorite cherry cola that you enjoyed as a kid in this yummy chocolate cake. It is a beautiful cake when garnished with mint leaves and maraschino cherries.

Ingredients

• 10 oz. jar maraschino cherries, drained, 1/4 cup liquid reserved (or more)
• 1 box Devil's food cake mix
• 1 c. cherry cola soda/pop
• 1/2 c. vegetable oil
• 3 eggs
• 1 container whipped vanilla frosting
• 1 c. marshmallow creme
• 24 maraschino cherries with stems, well drained, for garnish, optional
• mint leaves, for garnish, optional

Steps

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees or 325 degrees for a dark or nonstick pan. Spray the bottom only of 13x9-inch pan with baking spray with flour.
2. Chop cherries; set aside.
3. In a large bowl, beat cake mix, soda, oil, eggs and 1/4 cup reserved cherry liquid with electric mixer on low speed 30 seconds, then on medium speed 2 minutes, scraping the bowl occasionally. Stir in the chopped cherries. Pour into the prepared pan.
