Pumpkin Pie Ice Cream

Description

Combine those fall tastes with your homemade ice cream for a delicious dessert. Top with crushed cookies and you have a delicious treat.

Ingredients

  • 15 oz. can pumpkin puree (NOT pie filling)
  • 12 oz. can evaporated milk
  • 1/2 c. sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 t. pure vanilla extract
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1/2 t. ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 t. ground ginger
  • 1/4 t. ground cloves
  • 1/4 t. freshly ground nutmeg
  • Topping: 1 c. crumbled ginger snaps, vanilla butter cookies, or graham crackers, optional

Steps

  1. Whisk together all ingredients, making sure sugar is dissolved. If you can, strain the mixture through a mesh sieve. Place mixture in the refrigerator until chilled.
  2. Process mixture in an ice cream maker according to directions.
  3. Spoon the soft ice cream into a container; freeze until firm, for several hours.
