Description
If you are needing a special drink for a get together, look no further. This drink will be the hit of the party. It is warm, buttery and rich and won't soon be forgotten by your guests.
Ingredients
- 1/2 c. butter, softened (plus a pinch of salt if the butter is unsalted)
- 2 c. light brown sugar
- 1 t. cinnamon
- 1/2 t. nutmeg, freshly ground, if possible
- 1/8 t. ground cardamom
- pinch ground cloves
- 1/16 t. good quality dark rum (or use rum flavoring)
- boiling water (or coffee)
- half and half or heavy cream, just a splash for each serving, if desired
Steps
- Cream together the butter, sugar and spices.
- Chill in the refrigerator for 1-2 hours, until almost firm.
- Spoon 2 T. mixture into a small mug. Add 2-3 oz. rum; pour 2-3 oz. boiling water over the top.
