Description
Devils on Horseback is a hot appetizer or savory small dish from the United Kingdom. The name is a little misleading because this unique combination of prunes/dates, bacon and blue cheese tastes quite heavenly.
Ingredients
24 large pitted dates or pitted prunes

Preheat broiler to High. Soak 24 toothpicks in a bowl of water for 15 minutes. Mist a large, rimmed baking sheet with non-stick cooking spray; place a wire rack on top.
Halve prunes/dates lengthwise, being careful to not cut all the way through. Place a little cheese in the center of each prune/date, in hole left by removing the pit. Wrap each prune/date with bacon, securing with toothpick.
Broil 10 - 12 minutes, 4-6 inches away from heat, turning halfway through.
Makes 24.
