Description
Deep fried mushrooms make a great side dish to go along with meal. It takes less than 30 minutes to make them. Serve them as a side dish, or even an appetizer.
Ingredients
- 2 c. oil, for frying
- 1 c. all-purpose flour
- 1⁄2 c. cornstarch
- 3⁄4 t. baking powder
- 1⁄4 t. salt
- 1 c. water
- 2 c. panko breadcrumbs
- 10 oz. fresh white mushrooms or portabella mushrooms, wiped clean
Steps
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or a large skillet to 375 degrees.
- Mix together flour, cornstarch, baking powder and salt in a bowl; pour in and stir water until batter is smooth.
- Pour panko breadcrumbs in a separate shallow bowl.
