Description
These biscuits are perfect for a lazy morning breakfast or brunch or maybe even a snack or dessert later in the day served with ice cream. They are marvelous, hot, buttery and sweet.
Ingredients
- 8 frozen buttermilk biscuits, thawed or homemade buttermilk biscuits
- 21 oz. can premium apple pie filling
- 1 stick butter, melted
- ½ c. light brown sugar
- 1 T. ground cinnamon
- 1 t. vanilla extract
- ⅛ t. nutmeg
- ¼ c. walnut or pecan pieces, optional
- Glaze: (double, if desired)
- ½ c. powdered sugar
- 2-3 T. cream or half & half or 1-2 t. whole milk
Steps
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
- Melt butter; brush on all sides of a 10 inch cast iron skillet.
- In a bowl, mix together brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg until blended.
