Description
Ranch dressing and dip is always good, but it can be even better if you make it yourself. Serve it on a salad or as a dip for your favorite vegetables.
Ingredients
- 1-2 garlic cloves
- salt, to taste
- 1/4 c. freshly chopped Italian flat-leaf parsley
- 2 T. freshly chopped chives
- 1 c. real mayonnaise
- 1/2 c. sour cream
- buttermilk, as needed for desired consistency
- white vinegar, to taste, optional
- Worcestershire sauce, to taste, optional
- fresh chopped dill, to taste, optional
- cayenne pepper, to taste, optional
- paprika, to taste, optional
- freshly chopped oregano, to taste, optional
- Tabasco sauce, to taste, optional
Steps
- Mince garlic with a knife; sprinkle on about 1/8 - 1/4 t. salt; mash into a paste with a fork.
- Finely chop parsley, chives, dill and oregano; add to the garlic.
- In a bowl, combine all ingredients, adding optional ingredients as desired, tasting frequently and adjusting seasonings, as desired. Chill for several hours before serving. Thin with a little milk or buttermilk, if necessary.
