Ingredients

• Cake:
• 1 box of Devil’s food cake mix
• 21 oz. can cherry pie filling
• 1 t. almond extract
• 2 eggs
• 1/4 c. milk
• Frosting:
• 1 c. sugar
• 5 T. butter
• 1/3 c. milk
• 1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips

Steps

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9 × 13 inch pan; set aside.
2. In a large bowl, combine cake mix, cherry pie filling, almond extract, eggs and milk; mix with an electric mixer, just until combined. If wanting whole cherries in the cake, mix the batter by hand.
3. Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until wooden toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Let cool.
