Ingredients
- Cake:
- 1 box of Devil’s food cake mix
- 21 oz. can cherry pie filling
- 1 t. almond extract
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 c. milk
- Frosting:
- 1 c. sugar
- 5 T. butter
- 1/3 c. milk
- 1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
Steps
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9 × 13 inch pan; set aside.
- In a large bowl, combine cake mix, cherry pie filling, almond extract, eggs and milk; mix with an electric mixer, just until combined. If wanting whole cherries in the cake, mix the batter by hand.
- Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until wooden toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Let cool.
