Whether you serve these apple pie biscuits as breakfast, a snack or as a dessert, everyone will want more than one, so you may need to double the recipe. They are so simple to make and so delicious, they are even good enough for company.
Ingredients
- 8 frozen buttermilk biscuits, thawed
- 21 oz. can premium apple pie filling
- 1 stick (1/2 c.) butter, melted
- ½ c. light brown sugar
- 1 T. ground cinnamon
- 1 t. pure vanilla extract
- ⅛ t. nutmeg
- ¼ c. walnut or pecan pieces, optional
- Glaze: (double if desired)
- ½ c. powdered sugar
- 2-3 T. cream or half & half or 1-2 t. whole milk
Steps
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
- Melt the butter; brush on all sides of a 10-inch cast iron skillet.
- In a bowl, stir together brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg.
