Homemade cookies are always better and these homemade nutter butters are no exception. There are only 3 ingredients in the cookies and 4 ingredients in the filling. You can make them round if you wish, but making them into the classic nutter butter shape

Ingredients

• Cookies:
• 1 c. sugar
• 1 c. peanut butter
• 1 egg
• Filling:
• ¼ c. butter, room temperature
• ¼ c. peanut butter, room temperature
• 1 c. powdered sugar
• 1-2 T. milk

Steps

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
2. Stir cookie ingredients together until smooth. Scoop out cookie dough into 1 inch balls; place onto a prepared baking sheet. Press down with the back of a fork; press again from the opposite direction, making the criss-cross pattern on top of each cookie.
3. To make the cookie dough into the famous shape of a Nutter Butter cookie, form the cookie dough ball into a log shape. Roll the cookie dough in sugar, if desired.
