Make a simple and quick appetizer that everyone will rave about with this recipe. Use tortilla chips, Fritos or veggies as scoopers, if desired. Serve it in a pretty glass bowl to show off those beautiful layers of goodness.
2 medium ripe avocados, peeled and sliced
2 T. freshly squeezed lemon juice
1/2 T. garlic salt
1/8 t. hot pepper sauce
8 oz. sour cream
4 1/4 oz. can chopped ripe olives, drained
16 oz. jar thick and chunky salsa, drained
2 medium tomatoes, seeded and chopped
1 c. shredded cheddar cheese
tortilla chips, for serving
In a large bowl, mash the avocados with lemon juice, garlic salt and hot pepper sauce. Spoon into a deep-dish 10 inch pie plate or serving bowl. Layer with sour cream, olives, salsa, tomatoes and cheese. Cover; refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
Serve with tortilla chips.
Makes 2 1/2 cups- about 20 servings.
