Description
These dried strawberries are so sweet and are better than candy. When you make them at home, they are healthy with no preservatives or ingredients that you can't pronounce. You can feel safe serving them to your loved ones.
Ingredients
- 1 lb. strawberries, hulled, halved, quartered, if large
- 2 T. raw or granulated sugar
Steps
- Toss sliced strawberries and sugar in a large bowl; let sit until berries start to release their juices, 25–30 minutes. (Note: Taste the strawberries when slicing them. If they are already pretty sweet, the sugar won't be necessary.)
- Preheat oven to 185 degrees or the lowest possible setting, which may be 200 degrees.
- Spread berries out on a rimmed baking sheet that has been lined with a non-stick baking mat or parchment paper, making sure not to crowd them.
