Ingredients
- 6 c. tart cooking apples from about 2 medium, peeled, cored, sliced (Granny Smith, McIntosh and Braeburn)
- 3/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar
- 3/4 c. uncooked old-fashioned oats
- 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 t. ground cinnamon
- 1/2 c. cold real butter
- vanilla ice cream, for serving, if desired
Steps
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
- Place prepared apples into an un-greased 8 inch square baking dish.
- Combine brown sugar, oats, flour and cinnamon in bowl; cut in butter with a pastry blender or fork until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
