Need a refreshing cocktail that's simple to make and tastes great? Try this variation of the classic Gin Rickey.

Ingredients

• 1 1/2 oz. gin
• 4 - 6 fresh basil leaves, muddled plus more for garnish
• 1/2 oz. freshly squeezed lime juice (or lemon juice)
• 1/2 oz. simple syrup (Strawberry Basil simple syrup, if possible)
• Strawberry-lime hard cider, Rekorderlig or Kopparberg brands cider in a local liquor store

Steps

1. In the bottom of a cocktail shaker, muddle basil leaves together with gin, lime juice and simple syrup; fill with ice; shake vigorously; strain into an ice-filled Old Fashioned glass. Top with the cider; garnish with a sprig of basil.
2. Makes 1 cocktail.
