Description

This is an easy, no-bake dessert. It has layers of decadent, heavenly goodness, angel food cake, cherry pie filling, pudding and whipped cream.

Ingredients

• 1 angel food cake, store bought*
• 18 oz. can cherry pie filling
• 3.6 oz. package instant vanilla or cheesecake pudding mix
• 1 1/2 c. 2% milk
• 1 c. sour cream
• 8 oz. Cool Whip
• sliced almonds, for garnish, if desired

Steps

1. Cut the cake into 1 inch cubes.
2. Layer half of the cake cubes evenly in the bottom of a 9×9 metal or glass cake pan or a trifle dish. Spread 2/3 of the cherry pie filling evenly over the cake. Layer the last half of the cake over the cherry pie filling.
3. In a medium bowl, stir together the pudding mix, milk, and sour cream until smooth, about 2 minutes; spread evenly over the top of the cake. Spread the Cool Whip evenly over the top of the pudding layer. Drop spoonfuls of the remaining cherry pie filling; spread over the top.
