The is the easiest candy to make. You only need 3 ingredients, Cool Whip, chocolate chips and dark chocolate melting wafers. They make great holiday treats for parties, hostess gifts or even teacher gifts.
2 - 11 oz. packages milk chocolate chips
8 oz. tub Cool Whip, thawed
24 oz. dark chocolate melting wafers
In a microwave-safe bowl, heat the chocolate chips for 1 minute; stir; heat in 30 second intervals, stirring in between, until the chocolate is fully melted. Cool to room temperature, about 15 minutes.
Line an 8x8" baking dish with parchment paper; set aside.
In a bowl, gently fold the room temperature melted chocolate into the Cool Whip. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it out evenly with a rubber spatula.
Place the baking dish in the freezer for 30 minutes.
When set, remove the dish from the freezer.
Cut the mixture into 36 squares; transfer squares to a parchment paper-lined baking sheet. Return to the freezer for 30 minutes.
Melt the dark chocolate wafers according to the package directions.
Remove the squares from the freezer. Dip each square into the melted dark chocolate, using a fork to coat evenly.
Place the coated squares on a parchment-lined baking sheet; allow them to harden.
Store in the freezer until ready to serve.
